Through our new strategic partnership with the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), the Discover Puerto Rico Sales team had a significant presence at PCMA Convening Leaders during January 6-9. Our activation included hosted buyer appointments, a Puerto Rico meeting planner focus group session, and sponsorship of the Collaboration Studio, which gave us the opportunity to brand a 10 x 20 space and introduce speakers at four break-out sessions.
Discover Puerto Rico also introduced a new video and VR headsets, giving meeting planners a virtual trip to the island. Our sales team has some great prospects from this show and we look forward to booking new business from our networking and marketing efforts.
Island Destinations/Signature Summit FAM Trip
The Island Destinations / Signature Summit FAM Trip, planned in conjunction with Marriott / Starwood properties, Castillo Tours, and Discover Puerto Rico had a great turnout and very positive feedback!
This event was led by Maurice Bonham-Carter, president of ID Travel Group & Laurie Palumbo, COO. It included the top industry executives such as president & CEO Alex Sharpe, EVP Ignacio Mazza, and Signature Travel Network ownership representing over $3 billion in travel sales, including $500+ million in cruise and tour/land operator sales.
Attendees stayed at the St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort and Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. They were also treated to a walking tour of Old San Juan and a private reception at Casita de Rones, finishing the evening with a local culinary experience at Casa de España. Our CEO, Brad Dean addressed the group and thank them individually for their visit.
